Cuolm da Vi: Panoramic mountain
Sensational 360-degree view
In Romansh, Cuolm da Vi means “mountain with view”, and the excursion destination is exactly that: From one side of the peak at 2,203 metres above sea level, you can see Sedrun, with its ski area that extends as far up as the Oberalp Pass, as well as the Uri Alps. From the other, you can get a glimpse of far-away Chur, Switzerland's oldest city. Thanks to the gondola from Sedrun up Cuolm da Vi, which was completed in 2019, there is a connection in winter between the two ski areas Andermatt-Sedrun and Disentis. And in summer, you can save having to hike up. But if you're nevertheless thirsty: At the snack bar La Baracca, you can enjoy the view through panoramic windows or outdoors on a comfortable lounge chair.
Starting point for hikes, climbing tours, and mountain walks
There are a variety of hikes from Cuolm da Vi with different degrees of difficulty and lengths. One highlight is the panoramic high-altitude hike, with a stop at the turquoise Lake Serein. If you want something more challenging, try running the Three-Lake Trail. Or hike to the Lai Alv cliffs to do some climbing.
