In the spring of 2021, the smelter in Bristen will be the venue for the staging of the play “Madrano” by Ludwig Lussmann, the renowned Uri artist and honorary citizen of Silenen.
From 28 May to 19 June 2021
3 p.m. / 8 p.m.
The play is set in the 16th century and depicts iron-ore mining and the challenges of everyday life back then. The smelter, which is still found today at the valley station of the Golzern gondola in Bristen, forms the basis for an impressive open-air setting. The local directors Cornelia Jauch and Rosmarie Epp will be staging the play with the valuable assistance of the well-known actor, narrator, and director Walter Sigi Arnold. The location: Bristen is about a 30-minute drive from Andermatt.
