Description

The route starts at the train station in Göschenen and goes up first to the Regliberg, where you have a great view of the Göscheneralptal. From there, the route continues up to the Salbit hut and past the Salbitschijenbiwak SAC. You then reach the highlight of the route, the Salbit bridge. Continue to your destination, the Voralphütte.

The Salbit suspension bridge is over 90 meters long and connects the two SAC huts Salbit and Voralp. The connecting trail over the Salbit bridge requires alpine experience. Among other things, there is a 45-metre-long iron ladder to negotiate. The exposed sections are set up so that you can be secured with a via ferrata set. A via ferrata set is strongly recommended. The bridge can be reached from the Salbit hut in around one hour and 15 minutes.

The Salbit Bridge was built along the lines of the Nepalese suspension rope bridge. It offers a magnificent view of the glaciated Dammakette and the Sustenhorn.
