Alphorn Concert

Music lovers can look forward to concerts next week in Trun and Disentis that promise to be truly special listening experiences. Thirteen alphorn players—accompanied by the church organ in Disentis—will transport you into the realms of alpine soundscapes. The advanced students in Matthias Kofmehl’s course will showcase their skills in two very different performances: A special concert awaits music lovers at the Disentis Monastery Church: 13 alphorn players will join the impressive sounds of the two organs, played by Urs Vonesch. This interplay between the majestic organ and simple natural instruments promises unique musical moments and surprises. A concert will also take place in Trun (OGNA Sculpture): Thursday, July 9, 4:00 p.m. (if weather is inclement, the concert will be held on July 10).
