A documentary by Markus Casutt. Through striking imagery, the film tells the extraordinary story of Raphael Illien, a native of Vals, and his family. Far from civilization, they run their husky kennel, Lappland Nature Dreams, in Swedish Lapland. The film focuses on their close bond with their 28 Alaskan huskies, their passion for working with the animals, hard work in harmony with nature, and the pure joy of a self-determined life in the Arctic wilderness. An emotional and authentic look at a life full of dedication and deep connection with the huskies. “Huskies in the Heart” has its first public screening in the summer of 2026. Shuttle A shuttle bus (CHF 5.-) runs by reservation from Disentis, Salaplauna via Curaglia to Stagias and back. Departure from Disentis at 6:30 p.m. Departure from Stagias after the film (approx. 9:40 p.m.) Access by private car is permitted only with a permit, which can be purchased in Mutschnengia via Twint.
