Description
Anyone venturing into high alpine terrain will sooner or later encounter glaciers. In this one-day course, you will learn the most important basics for moving safely on glaciers and using ropes correctly. The focus is on crevasse prevention techniques and the most important procedures in an emergency. Among other things, you will learn how to set up a pulley system, how to use ropes and equipment safely, and other key rope techniques that are essential for touring in glacier terrain. To allow as much time as possible for practical training, the course does not take place on a real glacier, but in a suitable training area with snow drifts and flat areas. These offer realistic conditions and enable effective training in a safe environment.
