Opening and Vernissage of Albin Brun's Exhibition on the Oberalp Pass
Event information
Description
The event begins at 3:00 p.m. at the lighthouse with a musical greeting. Afterward, the festivities will move to the lighthouse, and following a brief speech by Foundation Board member Hanno Wyss, the “Big Red Lighthouse Key” will be presented to the newly appointed lighthouse keeper, Albin Brun, as a symbol of his office. The concert that follows, featuring the Albin Brun Trio (Albin Brun on Schwyzerörgeli and saxophone, Claudio Strebel on double bass, and Markus Lauterburg on drums/percussion), will begin inside the lighthouse and then accompany the musicians to the nearby stage next to the lighthouse. Exhibition of Steinmannli Photos by Albin Brun in the Lighthouse During Albin Brun’s term of office, an exhibition of Steinmannli photos will be on display in the lighthouse. Over the past thirty years, Albin Brun has stacked and photographed fragile “Steinmannli” along various European coasts, from Iceland to Greece. Just as lighthouses provide orientation along the coast, “Steinmannli” serve as landmarks in the Alps. That is why these cairns by the sea are a perfect fit for the lighthouse in the Alps.
