Description
The Lukmanier Pass (1914 m above sea level) was already a popular route in Roman times. It leads racing cyclists from the monastery village of Disentis in Graubünden via Olivone to Biasca in the canton of Ticino. Cyclists will be delighted by the vast pine forests smelling of fresh resin that they pass through on their ride. At the top of the pass, you can try your luck at fishing in the deep blue reservoir. The Lukmanier Pass is the only one of the eight Alpine passes in the Andermatt vacation region that is also kept open in winter. The drive through the valley along the winding road is idyllic and a unique experience. Surrounded by steep rock faces and forests, you can enjoy the cool breeze. The same route can be taken back, or alternatively you can return to Disentis via the Gotthard Pass and Oberalp Pass. However, this is a major extension of the tour.
