Description

Our route starts relaxed with a descent down to Brulf, right by the Rhine. From there, we follow the river, roll through the charming village of Disla and on to Madernal. Here we encounter witnesses from the past – a bunker disguised as an alpine hut and old tank barriers remind us of long-gone times.

We switch to the right side of the Rhine and enter a shady alder forest. Then the Plaun Petschen plain opens up – a real leisure hotspot. Here it's time to take a break and recharge. Whether grilling, beach volleyball, or a jump into the cool water – everyone finds the right refreshment here.

Next, we continue along the right side of the Rhine through sleepy Surrein. During the day the place seems deserted, but in summer one of the largest bat colonies in the region hides in the church tower – active only after sunset.

In Surrein there is also the Igniu bike and climbing park. Here you can practice skills and riding techniques on various trails.

Shortly before Trun, we switch sides of the river again – and treat ourselves to a small highlight: the art trail. On the last hundred meters, original works by local artists accompany us – sometimes humorous, sometimes profound, but always worth seeing.

The train from Trun station takes us comfortably back to Disentis – with many impressions in our luggage and perhaps already plans for the next route.
