Dampfbahn Furka-Bergstrecke, Realp: free ride on the diesel train

Description

The Dampfbahn Furka-Bergstrecke steam railway operates a concessionary rail link on a route almost 18 kilometres long between Realp in the canton of Uri and Oberwald in the canton of Valais.

The route crosses a largely untouched part of the Swiss Alps that is often difficult to access, passing wild gorges and steep mountain slopes and reaching altitudes of over 2000 metres above sea level. Historic locomotives and carriages are in use on the metre-gauge cogwheel line, which have been lovingly restored and made operational again by volunteers, including some vehicles that are over 100 years old.

With the guest card, you benefit from a free ride on the diesel train in summer 2024.
