Alp Hinterfeld

Description

Alp Hinterfeld is an alpine cooperative consisting of 15 authorised farmers who rear around 100 cows and 50 head of cattle between June and September. The milk is processed into alp cheese, Mutschli, yoghurt, butter and Ziger in the modern cheese dairy throughout the entire alp season. The processing of the whole milk without skimming is a special feature of the alp cheese, which gives it a creamy flavour. All products are available directly from the cheese dairy during the alpine season.

Alpine cattle driveTraditionally, at the end of the summer, the alpine farmers walk to Wassen with their festively decorated cows. The cattle procession and village festival take place around mid-September.
