Active travel in autumn: what you need to know

Autumn shows itself at its best in the Andermatt Holiday Region – the forests are ablaze with colour, while the first snow has already fallen at higher altitudes. This means that some hiking trails are only accessible to a limited extent or are no longer accessible at all.
Please note:
Some signage has already been removed.
Check the current conditions before setting off on your tour.
Currently inaccessible or only accessible to a limited extent:
Realp – Furka Pass hiking trail: bridge at Steffentalbach dismantled
Rotondo area: signage removed, covered in snow
Urschner Höhenweg: Realp area covered in snow (Andermatt – Wachthus possible)
Area around the Albert Heim Hut: covered in snow
Gotthard area: covered in snow
Further information:
Lake Toma: Closed due to rockfall hazard
Andermatt – Göschenen through the Schöllenen Gorge: Closed due to rockfall hazard
Diavolo via ferrata: Expected to be open until the end of October (please check with the Tourist Information Office for the latest information before your tour).
