Active travel in autumn: what you need to know

Andermatt, October 8, 2025

Autumn shows itself at its best in the Andermatt Holiday Region – the forests are ablaze with colour, while the first snow has already fallen at higher altitudes. This means that some hiking trails are only accessible to a limited extent or are no longer accessible at all.

Please note:

  • Some signage has already been removed.

  • Check the current conditions before setting off on your tour.

Currently inaccessible or only accessible to a limited extent:

  • Realp – Furka Pass hiking trail: bridge at Steffentalbach dismantled

  • Rotondo area: signage removed, covered in snow

  • Urschner Höhenweg: Realp area covered in snow (Andermatt – Wachthus possible)

  • Area around the Albert Heim Hut: covered in snow

  • Gotthard area: covered in snow

Further information:

We will keep you up to date and wish you continued enjoyable and safe autumn hikes in the Andermatt Holiday Region.
