Climate favorites, short waiting times and a food truck: new highlights in mountain gastronomy

Andermatt/Sedrun/Disentis, December 14, 2023

Andermatt+Sedrun+Disentis will be offering culinary delights in the 2023/24 winter season. The mountain restaurants now each offer their own house specialty. For example, the Angeldog from the new Wandermatt food truck at Gütsch. The so-called climate favorites have another advantage: they have a lower carbon footprint than comparable dishes with meat. Digital services also offer additional convenience in various restaurants.

The restaurants in the Andermatt+Sedrun+Disentis winter sports region each have their own fine specialty. These include local specialties such as Älplermagronen or Ryys und Poor and classics such as juicy hamburgers. Special: the dishes are available as climate favorites with a lower carbon footprint. Climate favourites are marked with a special logo on the menu or on the menu boards and are immediately recognizable. You can find them in the following restaurants:

Delicacies on the Gütsch

In addition to the award-winning restaurants The Japanese by The Chedi Andermatt and Gütsch by Markus Neff, the Wandermatt food truck now offers a selection of take-away food and drinks - including comfortable seating with a wonderful view of the Ursern Valley and the numerous peaks all around.

Enjoy instead of queuing

Andermatt-Sedrun Sport AG is introducing digital processes in various restaurants so that you have as much time as possible to enjoy the sun and the view. On the terrace of the Piz Calmot mountain restaurant, guests can easily order and pay via QR code. At the NätschenArena self-service restaurant, you choose your seat, order and pay for your meal online, collect it and simply show the receipt at the express checkout. The food stays warm and waiting times are short. This is also the case at the Wandermatt food truck, where you can order and pay digitally while queuing. In the lunch room at Restaurant Gurschen, you can now supplement your picnic with hot drinks and snacks. The service staff bring the items ordered online directly to the table.

Start of the season

All the new features will be introduced on Saturday, December 16. From then on, the entire Andermatt+Sedrun+Disentis ski area will be open and the large amounts of snow promise a great start to the winter season.

Andermatt Responsible

The climate favorites are being introduced as part of the Andermatt Responsible initiative. Andermatt Responsible stands for climate-friendly tourism in the Andermatt region and aims to enable resource-conserving tourism operations. The Andermatt Responsible 2022 progress report provides an overview of the current ESG projects, the key environmental figures and the carbon footprint of Andermatt-Sedrun Sport AG and the Andermatt Swiss Alps Group.
