Description

Day 1: Since a large rockslide has made Val Strem impassable, we choose the route via Alp Caschlé, which unfortunately gives us 2 hours more hiking time than the normal route. From Alp Caschlé we have to lose another 300 meters of altitude to the valley in Bauns. In the apron of the glacier with the stream and moor landscape of the "Glatscher da Strem" we look for a nice place by the water to take a break before we start the steep climb to the Chrüzli Pass.

A whole series of cairns keep watch here and, as in earlier times, there is now a cross at the top of the pass.

Through the Chrüzlital, over log heaps and through dwarf shrub vegetation, we reach Müllersmatt with the meandering Etzlibach. The Etzlihütte is located on a slight hill. Here we let ourselves be pampered with culinary delights, or we even have the opportunity to take a bath in the Alpine herbs wooden tub.

Day 2: We start the climb to Mittelplatten on the other day early in the morning, when the slope is still in the shade. The path runs partly on larger flat rock slabs, partly on slightly slippery ground, but it is well marked throughout. Through the Val Milà, steadily downhill, we reach the Maiensässe in Pardatsch. The circular hike ends above Zarcuns and we hike back to Sedrun train station via Camischolas Sura.
