Description

When we get off the train on the Oberalp Pass, the first thing we notice is the lighthouse, which is a symbol and representative of the source of the Rhine. However, we hike in the opposite direction to Tiarms Pass, where we already reach the highest point of the tour. Now it's easy going down into the valley, first into the Val Val, then on a high path and past pretty Maiensässen in Scharinas to Milez. The flag of the Tegia las Palas mountain restaurant has been raised, a good sign! We stop and take time to enjoy the wonderful view of the villages of Rueras and Sedrun.

The route continues via Mulinatsch and above Rueras to Sedrun.

From there we stay close to the railway line and we cross the impressive viaduct at Bugnei. In Mompé Tujetsch we can already see Disentis and in Segnas we admire the pretty farmhouses that were built in typical Walser knitted construction. In Acletta we visit the church of Maria Immaculata. The altarpiece by the master Francesco Nuvolone, which was created in Milan in 1655, is well known.

We end the hike on roads and side paths with little traffic. Past the valley station of the mountain railways and the sports center until we reach the Disentis train station.
