Description
We hike on the paved and traffic-closed road of the Vorderrhein power plants to the dam in Val Curnera. The incline is steady and pleasant. At point 1984 there is a bench where we take our first break with a nice view of Tschamut. The path then leads into Val Curnera and with binoculars we might see the crystal hunters working on the opposite side. The valley is very rich in minerals, and unusual crystal finds are repeatedly made here. Don’t be alarmed if blasting occurs—it’s safe on our side. At point 2039 we are above the dam and a gentle descent begins. Arriving at the top of the dam, we see to the far end of the valley where we can spot isolated alp sites. The return journey follows the same path.
