Adventure Fishing - Everything you need to know in the region!

Fishing in the Andermatt region

There is a good stock of fish in the numerous mountain lakes and streams in the Ursern and Göschen valleys. The beautiful location of the mountain waters in the midst of mountains, forests or alpine meadows makes for enjoyable fishing days.

Lake Göscheneralpsee

At the reservoir in the Göscheneralp you will find ideal conditions for a perfect day of fishing. Brown trout, rainbow trout, char and Namaycush trout swim in the very cold but oxygen-rich water. To fish in the Göscheneralpsee you need a fishing licence, which you can buy from the vending machine at the dam, the sales points or directly from the canton's web shop.

Lake Oberalpsee

With its pristine waters and abundant oxygen, it provides a good foundation for life. In fact, it is home to lake and rainbow trout, Arctic char and Namaycush trout. If you don't have your own equipment, you can hire or buy it directly from the Piz Calmot guesthouse on the Oberalp Pass. You can also obtain the obligatory fishing licence at the Piz Calmot guesthouse. The licence allows you to fish up to six trout from the lake. The Uri fishing licence is not valid here.

Other mountain waters

In the countless mountain lakes and streams of the Andermatt region, you may only fish with a fishing licence and a recognised certificate of competence. In the cold, clear and oxygen-rich water between stones and water plants, brown trout, rainbow trout, char, Namaycush trout and occasionally minnows hide.

You can order the fishing licence at several sales points and online. All information on fishing in the region can be found in the leaflet on fishing of the canton of Uri.
