Description
At the information board in Fadretsch, we follow the signpost number 610 and shortly afterwards cross the Rein da Medel on a historic stone bridge. After the pretty chapel in Pali, we hike uphill on a snow-covered road to its end. Then follows an ascent to the Maiensässen in Plauns, which can be quite strenuous on fresh snow. On a longer, flat section through the forest, we take a deep breath and between the fir trees, new views of mountain and valley open up repeatedly. At the Stagias height, we enter a shaded forest for a longer time. Only when we see our destination, the buildings of Alp Pazzola, do we have sunshine on our faces again. Here we leave route 610 and hike across open terrain towards the Alp, which lies on a hilltop. Upon arrival, the views downwards are wonderful. To the west, we see Sedrun, and to the east, the Surselva and Disentis lie at our feet. We find a sunny spot among the Alpine huts and rest extensively, as it would be a pity to set off on the return journey immediately.
Ascent variant: Start in Mompé Medel and ascend on the north side to Stagias. (better snow safety)
Descent variant: At the last fork of route 610, follow the Tegia Nova path, descending to Platta.
