Description

After a few meters, we leave the mountain railway facilities in Caischavedra and walk over marshy meadows through the Val Magriel towards Lag Serein. At the first trail fork, however, we turn left to Gendusas Dado, so that we reach Lag Serein in a loop via Verclisa. This creates a scenic circular hike, with the highest point at Sum Plaunca Hermer, an excellent viewpoint. The descent to Verclisa is somewhat steep and slippery, but we are rewarded with a landscape of green meadows and gently winding streams. In true Sebastian Kneipp style, we take off our shoes and cool our feet in the moist, boggy meadows.

After another ascent, we soon see our destination. The Lag Serein is small but very fine! Crystal-clear, turquoise water invites you to cool down briefly again, and the meadows around it are perfect for picnicking. On the way back to Caischavedra, we cross lively mountain streams and walk through alpine rose and blueberry bushes until we meet our ascent route again.

Variant:  The lake can be reached in about an hour via the direct route (without Verclisa).
