Edelweiss hike to Passo di Gana Negra

Description
We begin our hike at Hospezi Santa Maria and first ascend gently, then steeper and in zigzag on the west side of Piz Scopi towards Passo di Gana Negra. Actually, we should turn right immediately at the signpost at the pass, but it is worth walking 5 more minutes until we reach a small lake. Here we encounter a unique environment. Black slate blocks, which detached from Scopi long ago, lie scattered in the green landscape and create an extraordinary color contrast.
After the break at the lake, we walk back to the signpost and descend to Casaccia. On the way, we can hardly get enough of the many Edelweiss, veronica, and alpine asters. The view into the Vallone di Cassacia, with its multicolored rocks and rock towers, is also fantastic.
As soon as we reach the larch forest, we hear the call of the nutcracker, which feels very much at home here. Otherwise, it is quiet and peaceful in the small valley Samprou. Only at the parking lot by the road does the busy world meet us again. We take the bus back to the starting point at Lukmanier Pass.
