Description

The Hexensee, known for its extraordinary water reflections, is a popular subject for amateur photographers. It is worth starting early before the midday winds stir up the water.

We climb over alpine pastures into Val Milar. In summer, mother cows graze here with their calves, so caution is advised. After the electricity plant hut, we overcome a short steep section, after which we head towards the destination in mossy and water-rich terrain. The area is also very rich in minerals; we find shiny stones and, with some luck, even mountain crystals. Rare flowers grow on the mosses and between the bright stones, which also arouse our curiosity. As for the lake, there is only one expression: wow! Immeasurably dark it lies before us, nestled between smoothed bright rocks, with a mirror-smooth water surface. Now we look for the best perspective for a successful photo and a picnic spot. Because we won’t leave this place quickly, it would be too much of a shame. And only 15 minutes further north, we find the Lai Selvadi, which is also worth a visit.

Important: The last part of the path is not yet recorded on the topographic map by outdooractive, therefore the route guidance is somewhat imprecise. We follow the red and white markings!
