Description

Pizzo Lucendro is a popular ski touring destination and can be ascended from both the north and the south. On clear days, its striking white peak is visible even from Andermatt. The summit offers sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and promises a variety of ski descents. In addition to the summit cross, there is also a meteorological measuring station there.

As long as the Gotthard Pass Road remains closed for the winter, the ascent via the Rotondo Hut is recommended. On the first day, the ascent leads from Realp to the hut. The next day, the route continues toward Pizzo Lucendro. Just below the summit, at about 2,800 m above sea level, a ski depot is set up. From there, the final section leads on foot along the ridge to the summit.

There are two options for the descent:

  • Return via the same route through the Rotondo Hut and continue down to Realp.

  • Descend toward the Gotthard Pass and then continue on to Hospental.
