Description

The route starts at the train station in Göschenen and first ascends to Regliberg, where you have a great view over the Göscheneralp valley. From there it continues up to the Salbit hut and past the Salbitschijen bivouac SAC. Then you reach the highlight of the route, the Salbit bridge. From there, the path goes on to the destination, the Voralp hut.

The Salbit suspension bridge, over 90 meters long, connects the two SAC huts Salbit and Voralp. The connecting path across the Salbit bridge requires alpine experience. Among other things, you must overcome a 45-meter-long iron ladder. The exposed sections are set up so you can secure yourself with a via ferrata set. A via ferrata set is strongly recommended. The bridge can be reached from the Salbit hut in about one hour and 15 minutes.

The Salbit bridge was built modeled after the Nepalese suspension bridge. It offers a magnificent view of the glaciated dam chain and the Sustenhorn.
