Summit experience Piz Cavradi

Description
We hike up to the paved road that leads to the Curnera reservoir. The dam was built in 1966 and today belongs to the Axpo Group. From the road you can still see the terraces where the barracks were located during the construction period. In 2014, the dam was briefly seen in the movie "Edge of Tomorrow", where it served as a supposed hiding place for aliens. In the rocky slopes on the other side of the valley is the Eldorado of the local prospectors. Do not be alarmed, there are occasional blasts on weekdays.
Before the lake we turn onto a hiking trail that first takes us steeply uphill and then steeply downhill into Val Platta. We initially leave the Maighel hut to the left and continue ascending to the summit where the path disappears in the uppermost section and we follow the red-white markings on the rock slabs. They lead us safely to the summit of Piz**Cavradi. The view is simply wonderful! We descend to the Maighel hut** on the same path and take a coffee break. Afterwards, we take the paved road downhill until we can turn off on a hiking trail to Tschamut.
Short variant: From Oberalp Pass directly to the Maighel hut and to Piz Cavradi. Return on the same path.
