Description

We hike along the paved and traffic-closed road of the Vorderrhein power plants to the dam in Val Curnera. The incline is steady and pleasant. At point 1984 there is a bench where we take our first break with a beautiful view of Tschamut. The path then leads into Val Curnera and with the binoculars we might see the prospectors working on the opposite side. The valley is very rich in minerals, and extraordinary crystal finds are made here repeatedly. Don’t be alarmed if blasting occurs occasionally. Nothing will happen on our side. At point 2039 we are higher than the dam and a slight descent begins. Upon reaching the top of the dam, we see all the way to the back of the valley, where we can recognize scattered alpine huts. The return follows the same path.
