Andermatt Theater "Geischtermacher"
Event information
Description
DELVING INTO THE LINES OF A NEW CHARACTER IS A CHALLENGE EVERY TIME, ...but with every word we make our own, our anticipation grows for the moment when we bring those lines to life. The art of bringing a play to the stage that fills our audience with laughter and joy is a complex process full of dedication and passion. The collaboration of everyone involved—from the first rehearsals to the big performance—is a true feat of strength that confirms to us every time: “It’s worth it!” This year, we’re focusing on the play “GEISCHTERMACHER,” a dialect comedy that delivers top-notch entertainment with profound humor, dark situational comedy, and a wealth of zany punchlines. The story centers on the two eccentric gravedigger brothers, Chräbeli and Schüfeli Sumpfler, who are simply running out of customers in the health-resort town of Andermatt—until a fateful mix-up and two very much alive ghosts turn the Moor Inn completely upside down. With eerily delightful pranks, uninvited guests from the afterlife, and surprising twists, “Geischtermacher” promises a wonderfully entertaining roller-coaster ride for your laugh muscles.
