Historische Reisepost
Description
Experience a journey through the breathtaking landscape of the Gotthard and immerse yourself in the romance of travelling in times gone by. The historic travelling post, with the post horn sounding and the bells ringing on the harness, follows in the footsteps of traders, world travellers and ambassadors. Powerful horses pull the faithfully reproduced Gotthard mail coach from Andermatt over the Gotthard Pass, along the legendary Tremola route to Airolo in Ticino. The historic journey transforms the arduous past into a unique experience of today.
The route runs via Hospental, Mätteli, Brüggloch, Hospiz, Tremola and Motto Bartola to Airolo. The journey, which can accommodate up to eight people, takes one day and takes five hours. From Airolo, you can take the regular train back to Andermatt via Göschenen. This exclusive journey is only possible in the summer months, as the Gotthard Pass is closed in winter.
