Description

We hike down a side road with little traffic to the Rhine. Because the river receives almost no sun in winter, the snow caps in the stream bed remain for a long time and the bushes on the bank are magically decorated with hoarfrost. In Cavardiras we look at the richly decorated church dedicated to Saint Sogn Antoni. Next to it, the tinkling of bells makes us curious and we take a look into an open stable where sheep spend the winter. We continue hiking to Pardomat and Madernal and return to the south side, in the sun. The path leads near the river to Disla, another pretty hamlet. We stop at Ustria Fravia, which used to be a blacksmith shop. A beautiful place! The end of the hike takes us up to the cantonal road, through a sparse forest to Faltscharidas and back to our starting point.
