Description

The seventh stage of the Glacier Bike Tour leads through a wild and varied landscape and connects the source of the Rhine with the first change of canton on the tour. From Disentis, the route runs along a lonely forest path alongside the Rhaetian Railway, with the elevation gaining almost imperceptibly up to the Oberalp Pass. The pass at 2,044 meters is a striking intermediate destination and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain panorama. The only lighthouse in the Alps awaits on the Oberalp Pass - a unique highlight of the route. After the pass, the route leads along the Oberalpsee, whereby anglers and walkers should be respected. The descent to Andermatt leads through numerous hairpin bends and offers fantastic views of the Ursern Valley. Once in Andermatt, the next section of the Glacier Bike Tour awaits.
