Description

Our tour begins quite casually, first with an easy descent along the pass road and later on a high trail along the eastern flank of the Pazzolastock. We cover the last stretch to the Maighelshütte on a road. On the way we enjoy the Plidutscha plain, the first crossing of the very young Rhine and small clear blue mountain lakes. At the hut we enjoy ourselves on the terrace.

We soon tackle the last 150 meters of altitude to the Lolenpass and reach a watery and mossy plain that slopes gently towards the Unteralp valley. We continue down to an alp and shortly after we reach the phenomenal hairpin bends for the last descent. A whole 48 times we are sent back and forth until we reach the valley floor.

On the alpine road to Andermatt it is a matter of perseverance. The Matterhorn Gotthard Railway brings us back to the starting point on the Oberalp Pass.
