Description

Along the road beside the Santa Maria reservoir we have time to warm up and prepare mentally for the Passo dell` Uomo, because the rough military road in Val Termine is challenging. But after the pass summit we enjoy running on a single trail over flowery alpine meadows and past marmot colonies.

From afar we already see the Capanna Cadagno, which lies somewhat elevated on a hill. The modern architecture stands out: the old hut has been preserved at its core but has been extended all around with bright and functional spaces.

For the return route we choose the natural road over the Alp Carorescio with views of the Pizzo delle Colombe, which in its shape and form seems like a stranger in the landscape. No, it is not sugar filling crevices and gaps, but sugar-shaped dolomite, which initially caused concern for the builders of the NEAT. We leave the Lagozzo della Segna on the left, unless someone fancies an icy cold bath. Through Val Termine, the loose stones require a lot of attention again, but then we can easily run along the lake to the parking lot.
