Ridge hike La Muota

Description
From the mountain station of the aerial cableway in Cuolm da Vi, we first hike uphill on a driveable road where we soon reach a small lake with a picnic area in Gendusas Dadens. We are here in the ski area, yet the terrain remains quite natural from this point onward. After passing another, somewhat larger lake, the path leads us uphill to Lai Alv. Shortly after begins the ascent to La Muota, which is secured with a rope. The entire ridge crossing, however, requires good surefootedness. At the highest point, we are greeted by a mighty stone cairn, and there is nothing to obscure the wide view. We overlook a mountain panorama from the Oberalp Pass down deep into the Surselva. Another highlight of the route is the wetland Verclisa and the turquoise blue Lag Serein, which is as clear as its name suggests. The water temperature is not like in the Caribbean, but a short swim provides the famous "tingling freshness"! Through alpine rose bushes we hike to the mountain station in Caischavedra. A cable car ride down and a train ride back to Sedrun complete the circuit.
** Variants for hikes between the mountain stations:**
1: From Gendusas Dadens further on the driveable road to Gendusas Dado up to Caischavedra. This route runs entirely on a rough driveable road and is therefore not very attractive. (Not suitable for strollers) T2
2: From Cuolm da Vi on a newly established hiking trail to Piz Las Palas and on the Senda Pauli to Caischavedra. T2
