Description

The tour starts comfortably from Andermatt in the direction of the Oberalp Pass. Near the source of the Rhine, at the top of the pass, you will discover the lighthouse. The road then leads downhill through the authentic Grisons mountain villages of the Surselva. In Disentis, the road turns off and you climb through the beautiful Swiss stone pine forests to the Lukmanier Pass at almost 2000 meters above sea level. Southern Switzerland, Ticino, already lies below you. Here you can treat yourself to a refreshment in one of the grottos in Biasca before continuing on to the Piottina Gorge and Airolo. The final ascent is a tough one - it takes you up the iconic Tremola road to the Gotthard Pass. Alternatively, you can also take the wide pass road, but the Tremola is a real experience! Once you have climbed the Gotthard Pass, it's all downhill to Hospental and finally back to Andermatt.
