Description

From Andermatt, the first pass on the program is the Furka. Eleven kilometers and 900 meters of elevation gain lead to the pass height at 2,436 m above sea level. This is followed by a long descent into Goms, ideal for a short break, as the 13 km climb to the Nufenen Pass (2,478 m above sea level), the second highest paved pass in Switzerland, starts afterwards. After a fast descent into the Italian-speaking Airolo, the final climb to the Gotthard Pass (2,091 m above sea level) begins. The route initially follows the main road towards the pass height before you can switch to the historic Tremola at the fork – a real highlight with cobblestones and alpine scenery. Once at the top, only the descent back to Andermatt awaits.
