GTT Cari - Bodio 5th stage

The last hiking day is here and we set off early to take advantage of the morning coolness. Mostly on the sunny side of the Leventina, we hike mostly on the legendary Strada Alta Leventina, on which, contrary to its name, only short sections have to be walked on the road. Parallel to the road that connects the villages of Calonico, Anzonico, Cavagnago, and Sobrio, there is also a hiking trail. Partly through bright forests, then again over well-kept meadows and past picturesque rustici. A "treat" to finish is the descent to Bodio. The path is, in Ticino style, repeatedly equipped with stairs, winds down in numerous switchbacks, and in the lower part we enter a bright chestnut forest. Tired, happy, and also a little proud, we arrive in Bodio.
