• Never go alone: Plan your tour with others and always maintain visual contact with your companions.

• Tour with professionals: Have a trained mountain guide accompany you for maximum safety and optimal route selection.

• Carry safety equipment: An avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe and avalanche backpack with airbag are standard equipment.

• Assess the terrain correctly: tackle key sections, steep slopes and tricky passages individually.

• Respect wildlife sanctuaries: these are clearly marked and must not be entered or driven on.

• Pay attention to the time of day: warming temperatures in the afternoon can increase the risk of avalanches – reassess the conditions continuously.
