Descrizione

From the small mountain village of Cavorgia, which is still inhabited all year round, you set off, first over open terrain and later on a snow-covered forest road to Mises Grond. The following ascent through the forest can be somewhat arduous. When there is fresh snow, we sink between tree stumps and roots; when there is little snow, we get tangled up in it. A steep section follows at the hut in Riada, which needs to be judged carefully. As soon as we have this section behind us, it becomes "Schoggi" and the view down below is a great reward for all our efforts. Below the summit, we reach the end of the broad ridge. This is followed by the summit slope, the north-west ridge of which is sometimes completely blown off. Today we can easily reach the summit on skis, otherwise we would have to make a ski depot. There would be plenty of room for more skiers up here, but we enjoy being alone.

For the descent, we choose the option into Val Nalps. We head south along the ridge to point 2478, where perfect slopes, an unlit, short tunnel and a leisurely descent on the snow-covered road await us.

Option 1: Along the ascent route, a pleasure in powder or slush (normal route)

Option 2: Continue along the snow-covered ridge to point 2478 and then head eastwards into Val Gierm. (There are alder trees in the lowest part)
