A place for taking it easy
A great playground can occupy children for hours. In our region, there are many playgrounds, and most of them have barbecue grills, picnic tables, and football goal posts, offering fun, enjoyment, and relaxation for adults as well.
Andermatt
Andermatt Reuss playground
Located directly next to the Andermatt Reuss village quarter is a playground with a jungle gym, slide, and swing set. A covered seating area with a spot for grilling invites you to take it easy. A trampoline, slackline, and basketball hoop also provide a change of pace and action. Older children and adults will enjoy playing bocce on the bocce court right next door.
Bellevue playground
This playground lies somewhat hidden behind trees directly across from the Andermatt railway station. Highlights of the spacious playground are the ropeway and the sand hoist. There’s also a grill for barbecuing and picnic tables so that you can take a relaxing break.
Playground at the village schoolhouse
The playground is located on the school grounds in the heart of the Andermatt village. Here, kids can make creative use of a variety of wood elements or climb on a rope ladder. The picnic table is the perfect spot for a mid-morning snack or relaxing with a book.
Playground at the Senior Citizens' Centre
The playground is located in the garden of the Andermatt Senior Citizens' and Health Centre. The climbing tower with slides and two swings leaves no child unattended, and several benches invite you to linger. Intergenerational exchange with residents of the senior citizens' centre is also possible here.
Gurtnellen
Playground Reussmätteli
This playground is located at the start of the Gurtneller Erlebnisweg, where the Gottardo railway hiking trail also runs through. Around 5 minutes from the Gurtnellen bus stop, the playground fulfils all motor requirements and thus enables varied play.
Arni playground
Situated by the beautiful Arnisee, right next to the Alpenplick mountain inn, is the Arnisee playground. Slides, seesaws, swings and a cool cable car make every child's heart beat faster!
Wassen
Entschigtal recreational facility
The playground is about a 10-minute walk from the Wassen Post bus stop. It offers plenty of space to move around and play. A covered shelter with toilet facilities, fireplace and fountain complete the offer.
Primary school playground
This playground is located in the middle of the village of Wassen near the primary school. Table tennis table, benches, ground trampolines and slackline are just some of the installations, even the small children will certainly get their money's worth.
Meien-Aderbogen sports field
This playground can be reached by bus in 5 minutes from the Meien Aderbogen bus stop. Right next to the sports field, it offers enough space for families who would like to enjoy an afternoon together.
Göschenen
Playground in the village
In winter with a natural ice rink, this playground is practically 15 minutes from the station. Children can climb, play in the sandpit or romp on the grass. There is also seating, a table and a fountain with drinking water.
Hospental
Gotthardreuss playground
The Gotthardreuss playground is located at the edge of the village of Hospental directly next to the athletic field. In addition to playground equipment, it also features a barbecue grill and picnic tables. The playground offers a variety of equipment, such as a climbing tower, a tunnel tube, and a ropeway. Slides, swings, and a basketball hoop offer fun for children big and small. Youngsters will enjoy getting together on the nearby athletic field with its football goal posts.
Realp
Furkareuss playground
The large playground and athletic field in Realp is located at an idyllic spot just outside the village. A nondescript path leads to the grounds, where the playground, athletic field, and Furkareuss grilling area are just a few minutes’ walk apart. A slide, climbing tower, swing set, and sandbox offer fun for the kids. The athletic field has two football goal posts, so there’s nothing standing in the way of a match.
Sedrun
Playground below the Bogn Sedrun spa
This playground is located in the middle of the village, meaning that you’ll pass by it nearly every day. Children will enjoy the wooden jungle gym, the swings, and the slide and will be happy that they’ll usually meet playmates there.
Fontauna playground
This playground features everything a child’s heart desires: A variety of playground equipment, water for splashing about, and lots of room for running around. Set amidst woods and meadows, this playground also offers adults relaxation and enjoyment. The well-equipped barbecue area allows for relaxed grilling, and there’s a kiosk with ice cream and more on the other side of the Rhine.
Stalla Libra in Sedrun
The Stalla Libra is an art space and indoor playground at once. At this renovated former hay barn, you’ll find a playhouse that was created in collaboration with young designers from the Royal College of Art in London. There are a variety of play stations where you can test your skill, creativity, and endurance. Enjoyment for the entire family.
Disentis/Mustér
Caischavedra playground
This playground, located directly at the mountain station of the Caischavedra gondola, features a variety of playground equipment. Very popular with children: the trampoline and the bouncy castle. At the nearby grilling area, you’ll find seating and plenty of wood for making a fire. Tip: With the Disentis Sedrun guest card, trips are free on the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway between the Oberalp Pass and Sedrun and Disentis, as are trips on the cableways. With the Andermatt guest card, you’ll get a big discount on cableways tickets.
Playground at the athletic centre
The colourful, modern playground equipment will delight the hearts of children of every age: The spacious playground features a sandbox, climbing equipment, and a ropeway. Sun sails and trees provide shade. The playground also has a miniature golf course and a grill for barbecuing. You can purchase delicious snacks at the nearby cafeteria in the athletic centre.
Fontanivas water playground
How refreshing on a hot day! At the Fontanivas water playground, kids can splash and spray about until no one is left dry. All playground equipment is focused on water. Kids can divert or dam it, balance over it on a tree trunk, or go hand over hand along a rope from bank to bank. Need even more cooling off? Buy some ice cream at the campground restaurant right next door.

Plaun Petschen playground with barbecue grill
The Plaun Petschen playground, located directly on the Rhine, offers lots of fun for young and old alike: Great playground equipment for children, a swimming pond, and two beach volleyball fields ensure that everyone will get their exercise. There is also a barbecue area for grilling. If you’re in need of a coffee, head for the lounge at the nearby Resgia B&B.
